Counsel
Alexandru is a Counsel in our firm’s Dispute Resolution department. Prior to joining the SAA team, Alexandru spent 10 years at the law firm Popovici Nitu Stoica and Associates.
Alexandru has over 12 years of experience in a wide range of litigation. His areas of expertise include real estate law, administrative law, construction, urban planning, commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation and contractual disputes.
Over the years, Alexandru has represented leading real estate companies, construction firms in disputes with beneficiaries, and various developers in urban planning litigation. He also advised key players in the logistics sector and oil & gas industry in administrative disputes against state authorities. Furthermore, Alexandru has provided legal assistance to IT industry leaders in public procurement disputes and intellectual property rights cases regarding software products. Last but not least, he has represented a major pharmaceutical industry player in court proceedings concerning the defense of patent rights.
Alexandru’s key strength lies in providing tailored solutions adapted to clients’ needs, while demonstrating a deep understanding of them.
His ability to anticipate risks, navigate complex regulatory frameworks, and develop tailored strategies has established him as a trusted professional in large-scale litigation. Moreover, Alexandru is known for his pragmatic and client-oriented approach.
Alexandru is a member of the Bucharest Bar Association since 2015 and of the National Union of Romanian Bar Associations since 2013.

- Advised and represented a large construction company in a dispute amounting to more than EUR 4 million concerning the construction of a tourist harbor financed by European non-reimbursable funds.
- Represented a major fertilizer manufacturer in connection with a EUR 1.5 million dispute concerning the purchase and installation of industrial machinery.
- Represented a major hotel company in a EUR 2 million dispute concerning the ownership of a hotel and land.
- Represented a major real estate investor in connection with several disputes relating to the ownership of land and office buildings valued at over EUR 40 million.
- Represented a construction company in a litigation amounting to approximately EUR 5 million against the beneficiary.
- Represented a major real estate investor in connection with a dispute over the ownership of a shopping center worth over EUR 100 million.
- Advised a major real estate developer with the administrative permitting procedures for a real estate project (residential and office).
- Represented a real estate developer in connection with several litigations concerning the annulment of urban development plans, environmental permits, building authorizations for a mixed project (residential, office and commercial) worth over EUR 100 million.
- Represented of a major real estate investor in a dispute concerning the annulment of a zoning plan for a plot of land valued at EUR 25-30 million.
- Advised and represented a major agribusiness investor in relation to disputes concerning ownership of agricultural land and disputes with tenants, etc.
- Represented an energy supplier in a dispute concerning the termination of a lease contract relating to the rental of an office building.
- Represented a major logistics company in relation to a dispute of over EUR 300,000 concerning the termination of a warehouse lease.
- Represented a railway construction company in relation to various disputes with beneficiaries.
- Advised a major logistics center investor with planning and administrative administrative procedures and contract disputes.
- Represented a major oil & gas company in connection with the permitting of several gas stations and service spaces and litigation with competitors regarding the location of gas stations and service spaces on the highway.
- Represented of a major oil & gas company in connection with the termination of a concession contract signed with the Ministry of Transport worth more than EUR 40 million.
- Represented a leading DIY market leader in relation to a EUR 1.3 million dispute arising out of a sale and purchase agreement for land purchased from a local public authority.
- Represented a major IT services company in a EUR 2 million unfair competition dispute.
- Represented an IT company in connection with the public procurement procedure for a contract to supply equipment and software solutions for the Romanian Government.
- Representation of an IT company in relation to a EUR 700,000 litigation for damages due for unauthorized access and modification of software.
- Represented a major IT company in a EUR 400,000 litigation concerning intellectual property rights over software jointly developed with other companies.
- Represented in a number of litigation concerning the protection of intellectual property rights over intellectual property rights over trademarks (mainly in the alcohol and tobacco industry).
- Represented a major global pharmaceutical manufacturer in the defense of its patent rights.
